Our Core Values at Crossroads
HELPING PEOPLE KNOW JESUS, SO THEY CAN FOLLOW AND SHARE HIM
Gather
The local church is called to joyfully gather together to worship. Hebrews 10:24-25 says, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”
Grow
God has called us to press on and grow in Christlikeness. Hebrews 6:1-2 exhorts, “Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of instruction about washings and laying on of hands, and the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment.” As a local church, we press on towards the goal of Christlikeness together with pure joy. There will be trials and tribulations along the way, but we are in this together. James 1:2-4 says, “Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”
Go
Christ has called each believer to love, serve, and share Jesus with their neighbor, community, and world. Jesus commissioned all believers in Matthew 28:19-20 saying, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Give
God has called His followers to be joyful givers of time, talents and tithes. This is our way to extend thankfulness and praise to our Father God who has graciously given us all that we have. Giving is a form of worship to our gracious Lord. Paul proclaims in 2 Corinthians 9:6-7, “The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
