What to Expect
Crossroads Church of Long Island is a place where people can meet Jesus, engage in life-giving community, and everyone is welcome. We believe in creating a space where people can have authentic encounters with Christ, and discover what it means to know Jesus personally and follow him in your life! Join us for our Sunday services!
Whether you’ve attended church your whole life or never stepped foot in a church before, we know it’s not easy visiting a church for the first time. Where do I go? How should I dress? How long does it last? What about my kids?
We want your first experience at Crossroads Church to be relaxed, and for you and your family to enjoy the service.
So, here is some information to help you know what to expect:
WHAT TIME ARE THE SERVICES?
Sunday at 10:00 am the service lasts 75 minutes. We encourage you to arrive a few minutes minutes early, grab some coffee and donuts, and grab some message notes and a Bible to follow along if you would like to do that.
Pre-service is easy going and welcoming!
WHAT SHOULD I DO WHEN I GET THERE?
Arrive a few minutes before 10:00am. When you arrive you arrive you will see the Crossroads Church of Long Island sign and the parking lot. The first building is Acts Cafe (the one closest to the parking lot), and the building furthest back on the property is where the main worship is located. Once you enter the double doors, the main worship center is upstairs and the children's ministry classes are downstairs. Parent and child check in for children's ministry classes are immediately available when you enter the main church.
HOW SHOULD I DRESS?
Dress how you feel comfortable. The dress at Crossroads Church is mostly casual.
WHAT ARE THE MESSAGES LIKE?
You can expect that during teaching at Crossroads Church, we will use scripture directly and often, along with humor and stories, to explain what it is like to grow in faith and in a relationship with God. We worship Christ for the forgiveness for our sins, and trust him as we daily walk by His grace and in faith.
Our goal every Sunday is to teach the timeless truths of the Bible in a way that is engaging and applicable to your life. You will find that the messages are practical, easy to understand and grounded in Scripture. We also pray that you discover what it means to trust Christ with your life!
WHAT ABOUT THE MUSIC?
Crossroads Church features uplifting music weekly to guide you into worship! We use scripture reading, songs, stories of his grace to worship the Triune God.
WHAT’S AVAILABLE FOR MY KIDS?
Plan to arrive a few minute before 10:00am if you have young children. Families are always welcome to sit in the main worship service together and worship the Lord together. During the service we also have two children's classes that meet during the Sunday service, a nursery class from birth through age three, and then a younger children's class for ages four to seven years old. Parents who are attending the morning service can check in their children to the children's ministry in the main lobby, and then return at the end of service to pick their children up. They must be signed out by a parent or guardian.
WHAT’S AVAILABLE FOR STUDENTS?
We have a student ministry group that meets every other Friday evening night from 6:30-8:00 pm. For the current schedule, or to check if the group is meeting this week, please email info@crossroadsli.org.
WHAT’S AVAILABLE DURING THE WEEK?
Various groups meet during the week. On Wednesday night, we have a Bible study from 7-8pm. The first Wednesday of the month, all gather to pray for our community, and for different needs we are aware of in the church and in the community. We also have a Monday Mom's in prayer group that meets online. Celebrate Recovery meets in Acts Cafe on Thursdays at 6:30pm for a light meal, and then at 7:00pm the gathering will begin.
We also have periodic gatherings for men and women.
